nah, just because it’s a big deal doesn’t make it necessarily a quadrant deal. romantic pity and mere liking aren’t the same thing, and you can even trust someone for whom you feel neither of those. trust and comfort exist outside of those. plus they do have a concept of physical contact with your lusus, it’s not too far from their mindset. they’d be tense a little longer because what is this tame you speak of and can you really trust a wild beast not to suddenly turn on you and bite, but… trust.

idk if they’d see the point easily. a lot of them wouldn’t even see a point in trying at all, much less long enough to see any benefits save bragging rights, but some friendly ones would probably like it.

the john/jade/karkat/dave/terezi recuperacoon porn fic is 18 pages long (still not done aaa) and amongst all the random blather and one-liner-wars that can be expected of a silly fic where my favorite characters get to do nothing but socialize I’m rather amazed that somehow I managed to contain all hints of a wider plot/worldbuilding to a single line inside a single paragraph.

The prototype recuperacoon isn’t very recuperacoonish, in that it doesn’t have weirdly organic walls and doesn’t close up on top like some kind of misshapen hamster ball or giant termite hive; it’s basically just an old Jacuzzi she repurposed from Kanaya and Rose’s house. (Rose said they could treat her home as their home, and if Jade had had a Jacuzzi in her tower the problem would not have presented itself. Anyway once Rose and Kanaya are back from their super secret mother-grub-grub kidnapping project Jade is sure Kanaya will feel it was all worth it for a cheap, freely available sopor substitute that doesn’t involve blackmailing space pirates.)

Not to say I didn’t come up with way too much shit that will never appear anyway. orz
